Police Certificate
Requirement for a Police Certificate in Trondheim Short Track Skating Club (TKK)
The Board of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports and the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee (NIF) decided on March 10, 2008, that all Norwegian sports organizations must require a police certificate for sexual offenses against children. This system applies to anyone who will carry out tasks that significantly involve a position of trust or responsibility towards minors or individuals with developmental disabilities. The system will be effective starting January 1, 2009.
In TKK, the system is handled as follows:
All employees and volunteers who will carry out tasks for the sports club involving a position of trust or responsibility towards minors or individuals with developmental disabilities must obtain a police certificate.
This is done in consultation with: Frode Midjo
Phone: 908 77 375
Or his deputy: Martin Strickert
Phone: 911 54 786
Both representatives are bound by confidentiality regarding any information they learn about individuals.
The police certificate only contains information on whether the person is currently under investigation/charged or has previously been fined/convicted for violations of the criminal code concerning sexual crimes against children. The sports club does not have the authority to ask the person to obtain a police certificate for other criminal offenses. Obtaining a police certificate is free of charge.
